Title I Parent Involvement Info

This is Lincoln Elementary principal Kerri Jent with some important announcements as we close out our week here with our Tiger Nation.

First, we would like to make you aware of a few important newsletters going home with your child this Friday. If you have a DK-3rd grade student, there is an information packet and letter about MIchigan's Read by Grade 3 law. After you read through the documents please feel to call me with any questions you may have. You will also see a pamphlet to help further understand this law. Next, you have a letter introducing Mr. Williams our behavior supervisor. He works alongside all staff to work through behaviors and provide positive support while creating relationships to move forward with our students. He is a wonderful asset to our tiger community.

Today there was a PP posted on our FB page and our school website. This PP informs you about our parent involvement plan and how we service our students that need extra academic support. Please take time to watch this PP.  In conjunction with this PP we are offering a great opportunity for all families...recently, we provided professional development for our staff from a gym called Fortitude Strength. We are continuing this professional development wrapped around taking care of ourselves. During these uncertain times it is important that we be mindful in taking care of us. Fortitude Strength would like to expand this, and offer supports to our families. They are having a Family Nutrition Challege beginning in December. During this 12-week challenge families will be guided through foundational principles of nutrition.  You will work to create habits that you can one build a healthy lifestyle and 2 create a healthy environment for your kids.

The Benefits are:

weekly FB live informational webinar

monthly goal session creation and review

daily habit adherence

healthier eating habits

become an advocate for good nutrition for their children

You will receive many wonderful perks throughout this challenge.

The cool part about this, if you tune into the PP I talked about earlier on our FB page or on our webpage, about parent involvement, all you must do is view it and send an email to me, Mrs. Jent that you viewed the PP and, in the email, share any other ideas you may have to keep our connections with families and school strong, then you will be entered in a drawing to win a free spot for your family in this amazing challenge! I am so excited about this opportunity for our Lincoln families be sure to check out the PP and send an email to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. Lastly, we look forward to celebrating Halloween next week, we will be having a Halloween parade on Friday, Oct 30th outside beginning at approximately 11:00 am. parents are invited to park in our front parking lot. You will be able to view the parade and take pictures as students walk from the Kindergarten doors, down the sidewalk and enter back into the building by the gym. We kindly ask that you take pictures and wave from a distance as we continue to make student safety a high priority at Lincoln. Also kindly send your students to school in costumes that are school appropriate and costumes that avoid any weapons, blood and gore.

Our teachers also look forward to connecting with you for a phone conference on either Oct 29th between 4:00 & 7:30 and Oct. 30th between 12:30 and 3:30. If you have not called the office to set up your conference time kindly do as soon as possible.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support and cooperation! We love being able to share how your child's educational journey is going and how things work here at Lincoln home of the tigers! Have a fabulous weekend and Go Tigers!
