Hudson Area Schools’ Families,
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Tom Durbin has been offered and accepted the position of MS, JR/SR HS principal. Mr. Durbin is currently the Head of School of Lenawee Christian School. He has served there since 2013. Mr. Durbin was principal at Onsted Middle School from 2007-2013. He and his wife started their careers at Hudson. While at Hudson, Mr. Durbin was a teacher, athletic director, and assistant principal.
Officially, Mr. Durbin will not begin the position until July 1, 2024. Fortunately, he is available sooner and will begin transitioning into the position as of April 1, 2024. Mr. Beard will continue as principal of the building until June 30, 2024. Between April 1 and June 30 Mr. Durbin will have the opportunity to reacquaint himself with the staff and the operation of the building and he will support the building in a variety of ways. On July 1 he will officially take over the duties of building principal.
We are thankful that Mr. Beard will continue to serve Hudson Area Schools. As of July 1, Mr. Beard will be working to develop individualized programing for Hudson Area Schools. Over the next several months, you will continue to receive updates on what these individualized programs will look like and how they will benefit Hudson Area Schools’ staff and students.
We are extremely thankful to have administrators such as Mr. Durbin and Mr. Beard in our district. They both bring a level of commitment, expertise, and leadership that makes Hudson Area Schools stronger and better. The work that we do as a school district is all about serving our students, their families, and the community Hudson. We are grateful to have such a high-quality faculty and staff that is committed to this work!
